Hareem Al Sultan

I was tasked with designing a distinctive typographic treatment for ‘Hareem al Sultan’, to be featured on this Turkish restaurant’s menu cover.

Tools used: Adobe Illustrator

The interior of the restaurant was inspired by the opulent TopkapΔ± Palace, which served as the main residence of the Ottoman sultans.
I wanted to create a mark that reflected that lavish history.

Through my research, I came across the term “tughra“, a calligraphic signature used by sultans on important documents. Each sultan had his own unique signature.

Fascinated by the intricate structure and historical significance of these monograms, I created a personalized ‘tughra’-inspired design for ‘Hareem Al Sultan’.

Additionally, an arabic version was developed keeping the base form intact. Modifications were made to preserve readability of the words – ‘ΨΨ±ΩŠΩ… Ψ£Ω„Ψ³Ω„Ψ·Ψ§Ω†’.
